I should feel like a failure right now if I was only focused on results.

I should feel like a failure right now if I was only focused on results.

I’ve been posting here for 8 months.

• The # of calls booked with me to inquire about my services: ZERO • The # of DMs I’ve received inquiring about working with me: ZERO • The # of DMs I’ve received when I say comment “X”: ZERO • Amount of total $ I’ve made: ZERO

Now, granted, many of my posts have not been intended to attract clients but have been more for growth, but still.

It would be easy for me to think that this isn’t going to work, that it isn’t sustainable long-term.

𝗕𝗨𝗧, 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹.

I’m not focused on these results.

I’m focusing on the process, the journey, and helping others.

𝗠𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀:

  • Learn each day.
  • Improve a little each day.
  • Always give my best effort, whatever that is on any given day.
  • Enjoy the process.
  • Help as many people as possible.

If I do this consistently, the results will eventually show up.

• Win/Loss • Make the sale/Lose the sale. • Letter grades in school • Performance Reviews at work – rate yourself 1-5

𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗿:

  • I’ve grown my network by over 200%.
  • I’ve made great connections.
  • I’ve been a guest on 3 podcasts.
  • I launched my podcast.
  • I’ve reached out and tried to help some people along the way.

✅ It’s all in your perspective. Choose how you want to perceive what you are doing and what is happening.

➡ Change your Mindset. ➡ Change your Outcome.

📌 This post was inspired by my friend Lauren Fischetti’s post yesterday on focusing on the journey, not the results. She’s a life/career coach for women based in S.F. She consistently writes terrific content that’s real and vulnerable and resonates a lot with me. Check out her profile and follow along in her journey. 📌

𝗣.𝗦. I post M-F at 8:30 a.m. EST, except yesterday when I posted at 8:30, 8:46, and 9:05. Tomorrow, I may write about the results of this accidental experiment, or I might write about True Detective.
